Kids waiting to see the Coliseum, just like the gladiators.
Mitzi's directing the orchastra, like she usually does.
We finally got to see the inside of the Coliseum. Notice how excited the boys looked.
Some of the girls outside the Forum. The flowers here in Europe are amazing.
6-25-10 Friday
Today it is my I get to take my turn at the “blog” . We had a good trip to Roma again we were scheduled to see the coliseum today. The radio in Roma is good, We decided to take a tour and so we waited for 1 hour for an English tour. That was Kindra starting the blog, but she never finished, so I guess I’ll take over and finish. Some of the kids went swimming this morning, so again, we didn’t head to Rome until almost mid afternoon. We decided to take go see the coliseum. Hit for those going to Rome, see the coliseum, but just from the outside. The outside is the best view anyway. We waited for a ½ hour just to get our tickets, then it was an hour wait for the guided tour. When we finally got on the tour, we couldn’t hear a word the tour guide was saying anyway, so after about 20 minutes of wandering around in a big group trying to make out what the guide was saying, we broke off and just wandered around by ourselves. So we spent about $100 to wait for nearly 2 hours to get a view inside the coliseum that isn’t as good as the one you see from the outside. After seeing the coliseum we walked toward the forum, but they had changed it a bit since Kindra and I had come a few years ago. You can’t enter from right across from the Coliseum, so we walked around and looked at it through the fence, but most of the kids were too tired to go find the entrance and pay more money to walk around the forum, so they’ll have to wait for another time to see the forum up close.
